<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera monitor system capable of performing camera monitor for a long time in a simple configuration. SOLUTION: A picture photographed by an image pickup device 101 is converted into a digital signal by a digital signal processor 102, and MPEG compressed by a picture compression processor 104, and added with data by a data adding device 105, and stored in a storage device 106. An image pickup information storing device 103 obtains photographing status data such as the diaphragm and zoom of the image pickup device, and transmits the data to the data adding device. When it is detected that the diaphragm value is more than a specific value from the data, it is recognized that a dark place is photographed, and the compression rate of the picture compression processor is increased. Also, when the color difference data quantity of the video signal from the image pickup device is less than a specific value, the digital signal processor transmits the color difference data value as 0 to the picture compression processor so that the compression only of luminance data can be performed. Also, the compression rate is changed according to the changing situations of the image pickup information. Thus, it is possible to realize integral efficiency by performing the efficient use of the storage device or the control of a transfer interval to the outside part.</p> |
