PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the trouble such as generation of a noise caused by sending image signals of wrong systems to edit by a method wherein meta-data related to an image signal is detected precisely and quickly before starting, e.g. editing. SOLUTION: When the image signal is recorded on a magnetic tape 30, meta-data related to the recording system of the image signal is recorded in a memory tag 37. On the basis of the meta-data which is read out from the memory tag 37, a setting regarding an image signal inside an editing device 74 is controlled, and a warning is generated when the recording frequency of the image signal to be edited does not agree with a data bit rate. |
