PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PTC composition and a PTC element which are capable of effectively preventing a PTC element body from separating from the electrodes and of displaying satisfactory stability and reproducibility with respect to separated use, and high reliability. SOLUTION: Adhesive polyolefin of 100 pts.wt., 300 to 550 pts.wt. metal conductive filler subjected to a surface treatment with a coupling agent, and 0.01 to 100 pts.wt. of a crosslinking agent for the adhesive polyolefin and the metal conductive filler are compounded into a PTC composition, and metal foil electrodes are joined to the PTC composition to constitute a PTC device. The metal conductive filler has been subjected to a surface treatment with the coupling agent, so that the adhesive polyolefin is chemically bonded to the metal foil electrodes more preferentially than the metal conductive filler, for forming a graft structure.
