PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct the timing of already recorded data on a storage medium such as a DVD. SOLUTION: This method includes (a) a step for recording the correction data sequence of a recording medium at the time when a timing clock on the recording medium is referred to, (b) a step for measuring a timing deviation 665 between the above correction data sequence and the clock, (c) a step for writing a test data sequence, (d) a step for measuring the timing deviation 665 between the above test data sequence and the clock, (e) a step for comparing the above correction data sequence with respect to the clock and the timing deviation 665 of the test data sequence, and (f) a step for reducing the difference between the above correction data sequence and the timing deviation 665 of the test data sequence by correcting the writing timing of the above test data sequence.
