PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an FM receiver by which a sense of incongruity in moving between stereo reception and analog reception is eliminated and hysteresis characteristic can be varied corresponding to liking of a listener. SOLUTION: A memory which digitally stores the relation of separation degree to the electric field intensity reception level of an FM sound signal in advance and controls the stereo reception and monaural reception of the FM sound signal to be played has hysteresis characteristic where variation when the electric field intensity reception level varies in a reducing direction is more gentle than variation when the electric field intensity reception level varies in an increasing direction concerning the variation of the separation degree with respect to the stored electric field intensity reception level. The hysteresis characteristic can be changed.
