PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a managing method of file update capable of minimizing confirmation in the case of the file update. SOLUTION: An update management tool 11 of a file management server 1 reads the previous update date (A) recorded in an update date managing table TB1 and the number of alarm transmission inhibition days (B) set in a monitoring condition table TB2 in the case of managing the file update in a file storage part DB1. And the update management tool 11 transmits an alarm signal to a workstation 2 when the date of the present day is the same day or the later day of an update deadline calculated by adding the number of days (B) to the date (A). On the other hand, when the present date is before the update deadline, normal notification is performed to the workstation 2. Consequently, a confirmation processing before the file update in the file storage part DB1 becomes unnecessary and the file update is managed only by the minimum necessary confirmation processing.
