Vibration proof microscope with lens controlled by angular velocity and acceleration sensor mounted on microscope to compensate for vibration

The invention relates to a video microscope supported on an arm pivoted from a support pillar. Each optical system is equipped with angular velocity and acceleration sensors. If the optical systems are subject to vibration the signals from these sensors are fed to a control unit which controls a lens, common to both optical systems in a plane orthogonal to their optical axes, to maintain the sharpness of the resultant image.
