PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a noise emitted from a surface of a rear end plate in a noise eliminator for an engine. SOLUTION: Both opening parts of a shell 14 are closed with front and rear end plates 15, 16, and its inside is partitioned by front and rear separators 17, 18 to form expansion chambers 19, 20 and a resonance chamber 21. An inlet pipe 22 and an outlet pipe 28 are inserted into the inside of the shell 14. Exhaust gas of the engine is introduced, to be expanded, into the expansion chamber 19 from the inlet pipe 22, is reexpanded in an expansion chamber 20 through an inner pipe 29, and is discharged into the atmosphere via the outlet pipe 28. The noise is eliminated by the expansion in the expansion chambers 19, 20 and resonance in the resonance chamber 21. The vibration of the rear end plate 16 is restrained by coupling the rear end plate 16 and the rear separator 18 with a reinforcing member 32, so as to reduce the noise emitted from the surface thereof.
