PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser beam printer, and its manufacturing method, in which a scanning light beam can be monitored and the state thereof can be corrected, maintained or managed by providing means for measuring the state of the light beam scanning on a photosensitive body in a print area. SOLUTION: The laser printer comprises means 1 for emitting a light beam, means 2 for condensing a light beam emitted from the light emitting means 1, means 6 for scanning a print area with a light beam passed through the condensing means 2, a photosensitive body 11 for forming an image with a light beam from the scanning means 6, and means 14 for measuring the state of the light beam scanning on the photosensitive body 11 in the print area.
