PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet head and an ink jet recorder wherein a liquid drop having a minimum quantity not greater than 2 pl can be ejected, a single large liquid drop is ejected by combining a plurality of ejected ink drops and a dynamic range in the ejection quantity is great. SOLUTION: An actuator driving means temporarily stops a restoring action of an actuator in the way of returning to a zero position from a maximum position when a small liquid drop is ejected so that the ink ejected from an end of a nozzle is cut to eject a fine ink drop. When a large liquid drop is ejected, an interval of driving pulses supplied to a piezoelectric element is made close to a natural period of the actuator.
