PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for transferring a large Torii (shine gate) where by a large Torii can be transferred in an upstanding state and the strength of a foundation after restoration can be improved. SOLUTION: The method for transferring a large Torii 11 composed of both side columns 12 and 12a erected on independent existing foundations 13 and 13a, with the tops of the columns interconnected by horizontal members 16 to 20, includes a foundation construction process for constructing a large foundation 23 by interconnecting the existing foundations 13 and 13a on both sides, a frame construction process for assembling a protective frame 27 surrounding the large Torii 11, in such a way that the frame is integrated with the large foundation 23 constructed, and a conveyance process for lifting and moving the protective frame 27 using a raising and conveying means 10, together with the large Torii 11 and the large foundation 23.
