PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a language learning system by which a learner can recognize the difference between his (her) pronunciation and model pronunciation accurately and objectively. SOLUTION: This language learning system 1 is composed of a personal computer 2, an optical reading pen 3 for reading indication code 22 described in a learning text 21 and a microphone 4 for recording speech of a learner. The computer 2 outputs model speech of the sentence of the text 21 based on the indication code 22 and repeated speech of the learner are recorded through the microphone 4. The model speech and the speech of the learner are converted respectively into waveforms. Then the learner can recognize the difference between his (her) pronunciation and the model pronunciation by comparing these waveforms mutually.
