A sensor and a chip are kept together in a common unit that is fixed locally on one place, on which a fingerprint can be input. A sensor is built into a key and a chip into a lock. The sensor picks up a fingerprint. A cable feeds the information to a contact point, which makes contact with the chip and in turn the chip checks out the fingerprint. If this is identical, then the security mechanism in the lock opens. |
