PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a metal oxide catalyst capable of achieving the rapid penetration of a reaction substance into an active region, the rapid separation of a reaction product from the active region and a high catalytic activity in the active region at the same time to develop extremely high catalytic effect and especially useful for a dioxin decomposing reaction or a hydrogen producing reaction, and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The metal oxide catalyst has first pores with a pore size of 3-30 nm in a pore volume ratio of 0.01-0.60 cm3/cm3 (pore volume/apparent volume of catalyst) and second pores with a pore size of 50-500 nm in a pore volume ratio of 0.01-0.60 cm3/cm3 (pore volume/apparent volume of catalyst). 5-50 pts.wt. (the weight in terms of a metal oxide) of a sol substance containing metal oxide particles with a particle size of 3-50 nm and 5-50 pts.wt. of a polymeric substance with a mol.wt. of 200-2,000,000 are mixed to be heated to 300-700 deg.C to manufacture the metal oxide catalyst. |
