PURPOSE: A method for confirming the data stored in a mobile terminal in a power-off state by battery discharge is provided to remarkably increase reliability for mobile terminals as storage media by enabling stored user data to be confirmed even in a power-off state. CONSTITUTION: In the state that the power of a mobile terminal is off as the battery has been fully discharged, if a user selects an extra power saving mode(201), the CPU sets up the mobile terminal as the extra power saving mode(202) and initializes the hardware functions of the mobile terminal(203). Then the CPU resets the reference voltage to maintain the power-on state of the mobile terminal to 2.9V(204). The CPU disables the RF transmit-receive processing part, the audio CODEC, the vocoder, the LCD, and the back light of the keypad(205-207). And the CPU disables the call processing operation between the mobile terminal and a base station(208).
