PURPOSE: A car interface free navigation system with a temperature compensation function and a method for compensating temperature are provided to display correctly a location of a vehicle by removing efficiently a bias error of a sensor. CONSTITUTION: A GPS(Global Positioning System) receiver(8) is used for obtaining measured data from a multitude of GPS satellites. A sensor portion(1,2,3) has an acceleration sensor(1) for measuring acceleration of a vehicle, a yaw gyro sensor(2) for measuring rotary angular velocity of the vehicle, and a pitch gyro sensor(3) for measuring angular velocity of a pitch of the vehicle. A temperature detection portion(12) measures temperature around the sensor portion(1,2,3). A normal error correction portion(13) corrects a bias error according to a thermal variation of the sensor portion(1,2,3). A distance calculation portion(5) is used for calculating a moved distance of the vehicle. A yaw calculation portion(6) is used for calculating a moved yaw of the vehicle. A relative location calculation portion(7) is used for calculating a relative location of the vehicle. A map storage portion(10) is used for storing map data. A location decision portion(9) is used for deciding a final location of the vehicle by reading the relative location, an absolute location, and map data. A display portion(11) is used for displaying the map data and the location information.
