An electrofusion fitting (2) for a plastics pipe (12), which comprises a hollow, tubular enclosure comprising a body to which an end of the plastics pipe can be connected, the body comprising at least one circumferential inner wall (18) and at least one circumferential outer wall (20) concentric therewith, the inner and outer walls forming an annular space for receiving the end of the plastics pipe (12), and comprising thermoplastic material at least in their regions adjacent the annular space, at least one electrical heating element (26, 28) for heating the thermoplastic material of the inner and outer walls being located adjacent to, or embedded in, each of said at least one inner wall and said at least one outer wall in their regions adjacent the annular space. |
