PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a printer in which data received next can be printed appropriately even if a host is disconnected from an IF(interface) during print operation by ending the print operation and discharging the sheet, especially a printer for printing print data received from a plurality of hosts through a plurality of IFs in which printing can be performed smoothly even if an IF is disconnected during print operation of print data received through that IF by performing appropriate processing and then printing print data received from other IF. SOLUTION: A decision is made whether the cable of an IF being used during print operation is drawn out or not (S202) and if the cable is drawn out, print operation is ended and a printed sheet is discharged (S207). Since the printed sheet is discharged and not left in the sheet carrying passage of the printer, the printed sheet is not required to be discharged or taken out when printing of next sheet is started and print operation is performed smoothly. |
