PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus in which functional set value information can be reset easily even upon occurrence of loss thereof due to unintended failure of the imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: A difference data generating section 1 compares functional set value information with prestored one, generates difference information by extracting an altered part and stores identical information in a primary data storage section 2. A difference data synthesizing section 3 collates the difference data stored in the primary data storage section 2 with that stored in a secondary data storage section 4, overwrites an updated set value and stores identical information in the secondary data storage section 4. A timer generating section 6 monitors time for operating the difference data generating section 1 and the difference data synthesizing section 3 at a constant time interval and stores updated functional set value information simultaneously in the secondary data storage section 4 having a plurality of storage units including external units. Consequently, functional set value information can be reset even if it is lost using set value information stored normally in the storage unit.
