PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera capable of suppressing the deterioration of the quality of a picture to be obtained by an image pickup device even when dusts are stuck to a filter through which the lights of an object from a photographing optical system are transmitted. SOLUTION: In a digital camera 1, a focal plane shutter 22 and a low pass filter 23 mounted on a moving mechanism 80 are arranged between a photographing optical system 11 and a CCD area sensor 25. When the lights of an object are exposed to the CCD area sensor 25 according as a shutter operation is performed by the focal plane shutter 22, the low pass filter 23 is moved to a direction vertical to an optical axis Ax of the photographing optical system 11 by the moving mechanism 80. Therefore, any charge storage decrement due to dusts stuck to the surface of the low pass filter 23 are dispersed to plural pixels so that the shadow of the dusts can be prevented from being conspicuous in a picture to be obtained by the CCD area sensor 25, and that the deterioration of the picture quality can be suppressed.
