PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound recording and reproducing device which is made small-sized and inexpensive by simplifying the system constitution and has a high reliability. SOLUTION: When the sound recording and reproducing device provided with a flash memory 19 having a sound data area and an index information area, an encoder/decoder 43 for encoding and decoding an inputted sound signal to sound data, and an MPU 22 which controls write to the flash memory 19 of the sound data and index information related to this sound data or read of sound data based on index information related to sound data stored in the flash memory 19 is made into one chip, a buffer memory 44 where sound data is temporarily stored is provided between the encoder/decoder 43 and an internal bus 35 connected to the MPU 22. Thus recording and reproducing processing can be performed without omitting sound data with the MPU 22 having a relatively low performance is used. |
