PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate for deterioration in brightness due to long term use of phosphor of a display device. SOLUTION: By obtaining time-integral values of display rates of the color signals R, G, B, and generating correction signals to make the brightness and color temperatures constant according to the time-integral values and the characteristics of R, G, B phosphors of the display body deteriorated with the lapse of time and obtained beforehand, the color signals R, G, B are corrected with the correction signals.
