PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a long shelf life property and high temperature shelf life of an alkaline secondary battery provided with a positive electrode having active material mainly composed of nickel oxide including dissolved zinc. SOLUTION: In this alkaline secondary battery, zinc in the positive electrode active material is dissolved in the alkaline electrolyte after charging and discharging the battery, and the quantity of the zinc to be moved to other parts except the positive electrode is restricted to 10% by mass in relation to the whole of the zinc. |
