PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic commerce system and control method thereof capable of performing commercial transactions while reducing the load of a purchaser. SOLUTION: The terminal used by a purchaser 11 reads commodity information including a commodity list provided from a seller WWW server 14 in a WWW browser 12. The purchaser 11 notifies of the intension of purchasing a commodity to be purchased on the basis of the read commodity information, and receives commodity transaction information for performing the settlement of the commodity to be purchased from the seller-side WWW server 14. The seller-side WWW server 14 transmits the commodity transaction information in a form readable by the WWW browser 12 to the terminal of the purchaser 11 who notified of the intension of purchasing the commodity to be purchased.
