PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature control method which maintains the surface temperature of the heat setting roller almost equal to the targeted temperature by a simple means. SOLUTION: An electric feed power controller 72 controls the power supplied to a halogen lamp 56 from the power supply, based on the temperature signal carrying the temperature detected by a temperature sensor 60, the angle signal carrying the angle generated by an optical censor 64, and the temperature signal carrying the temperature stored in a temperature memory 74. By the control, the temperature on the surface of a fixing roller 52 is kept equal to the targeted temperature.
