PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retrieving word display device for retrieving information and its method, which is capable of simply and speedily retrieving a requested questioning word by providing an original sentence image with the questioning word marked after extracting requested information from an information storing place when a user trying to perform retrieval to image data requests the retrieval of his/her desired information by inputting the questioning word. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an automatic character recognition system 40 which reads original sentence database stored in a server 20 by using a scan system 30 to recognize English/Korean characters, performs Japanese recognition and Japanese/Korean translation and then, stores an English/Korean text file in the server 20. Then, the device successively performs the first process for storing image marking related data to the result of character recognition extracted by character recognition and the second process for retrieving the image marking related data stored in the first process by the requested questioning word and displays a retrieving word.
