PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact steering device capable of smoothly oscillating a column to adjust the position of a steering wheel free from any play without increasing the parts number and the cost. SOLUTION: A column 3 for supporting a steering shaft 2 connected to the steering wheel is connected to a vehicle body side member around the axis of oscillation along the lateral direction by a connection mechanism 6 in an oscillating manner. The oscillation of the column 3 can be fixed and unfixed by an operation mechanism. The connection mechanism 6 comprises a column side member 21 oscillated together with the column 3 and an elastic member 23 which is elastically twisted and deformed around the axis of oscillation. The elastic member 23 is integrated with the column side member 21 and the vehicle body side member 4 so that the column 3 can be oscillated to the vehicle body side member 4 by the elastic twisting deformation when the oscillation is unfixed by the operation mechanism. |
