PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for judging the clogging of a drain pipe for a hydraulic elevator which can easily check the clogging of the drain pipe and shorten the cleaning time. SOLUTION: The air in the drain pipe 4 is sucked by a sucking device, the negative pressure in the drain pipe 4 generated by the suction is detected. If the detected negative pressure exceeds a predetermined value, it is judged that the drain pipe 4 is in a clogged condition, and the result of the judgment is indicated on an indicator 11.
