PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner which can be gripped by an optional method, and of which the workability is improved. SOLUTION: A case body 23 houses an electric blower 40, and in the front section of which, a dust collecting body 80 is detachably fitted. To such a case body 23, a lid body 24 is detachably attached in a manner to pinch the dust collecting body 80. A hose 72 is connected to the lid body 24, and a suction section 68 wherein a suction port 71 communicating with the dust collecting body 80 is opened is provided. On the lid body 24, a first handle 76 having the axial direction in the longitudinal direction of a main body case 25 is provided. To the first handle 76, second handles 77 and 77 which symmetrically make a pair are connected, and thus, an approximate Y-shape handle means 75 is provided. The handle means 75 is provided under a state wherein the crossing point connecting the first handle 76 and the second handles 77 and 77 may be located above the center of gravity of the vacuum cleaner body 21. A user can grip an optional place being easy to grip of the handle means 75 in response to a cleaning state, and the workability can be improved.
