PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary tool for endoscope which does not damage the distal end of the insertion portion of an endoscope when the tool is attached to and detached form endoscope, can be prevented from coming off from the endoscope when in use, can cope with many endoscopes with one size, and can be manufactured inexpensively. SOLUTION: The position of the auxiliary tool for endoscope can be switched between an engaging position at which the tool is urged in the direction in which the tool is engaged with the distal end of the insertion portion of the endoscope in a state where the tool can be disengaged from the front end by elastically deforming the variable inside-diameter section 8 of the base-side and section of a cap body 2 in the direction in which the inside diameter of the section 8 is reduced by moving an operating ring 11 movably arranged on the cap body 2 on the outside of the section 8 and a disengaging position at which the urging force applied to the variable inside-diameter section 8 is released.
