PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an intra-celom observation instrument which is contrived to acquire high-quality endoscopic images by moving its visual field to a desired position without moving nor bending the main body of an endoscope. SOLUTION: The bent state of the optical axis X of a hard mirror 1 provided with an image forming optical system used for endoscopic imaging at its distal end is controlled and the visual field of this observation instrument is moved by moving wedge prisms 3 and 4 movably coupled with the front end section of the image forming optical system of the mirror 1 for bending the optical axis X by means of an actuator means in accordance with commands from an operating interface 12. The prisms 3 and 4 are arranged closely to each other so that their first faces which have the same wedge apex angle and are perpendicular to the optical axis S may be faced to each other. The actuator means is composed of jackets 5 and 6 which are respectively coupled with this side outer peripheral section of the mirror 1 and the space between the wedge prisms 3 and 4 in independently drivable states and motors 7 and 8 which respectively rotationally drive the jackets 5 and 6 around the optical axis X.
