PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging material for a rice cake having a strength and the like, excellent heat resistance, moistureproofness, heat sealability, pinhole resistance, piercing resistance, transparency and the like, further, excellent barrier properties for preventing a transmission of an oxygen gas, a steam or the like, filling and packaging suitability, preservation suitability and the like of its content and furthermore excellent discarding suitability, environmental suitability and the like without generating a harmful substance or the like in the case of incinerating and discarding after using and a rice cake package using the material. SOLUTION: The packaging material for the rice cake is obtained by providing a vapor-deposited film of an inorganic oxide on one surface of a base material film, then sequentially providing a primer agent layer, a print pattern layer and a laminating adhesive layer on the vapor-deposited film of the oxide, and further providing a heat sealable resin layer on the adhesive layer. The rice cake package uses the packaging material.
