PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide patterned foil in which a ground pattern is formed on the surface of foil by a die with a bare surface of the foil utilized. SOLUTION: In a method for producing the patterned foil, the metal foil 1 is held between thin paper sheets or films 3 and pressed by the die in which a die pattern 8 of an optional design is formed on a plate surface, the paper sheets or the films are removed, and patterns 2 of a rough surface are formed on both surfaces pressed by the die 5 of the metal foil.
