<p>PURPOSE:To record an EDTV signal by converting a non-interlace signal into an interlace signal while keeping the correlation between picture elements of a video signal so as to have only to add a partial circuit to an existing TV signal recording and reproducing device. CONSTITUTION:The device is made up of a converter, a recording means, a reproducing means converting an ED signal (1st video signal) into a 2nd video signal (two SD signals SD1, SD2 of 4:1:1), and an inverse converter or the like inverse conversion to the signals SD1, SD2 to the conversion above to decode the ED signal. The converter converts a non-interlace signal into an interlace signal for each frame (frame P into frame J) to set odd number lines of the non-interlace signal P into odd number field (J0) lines of the interlace signal and even number lines of the non-interlace signal P into even number field (J0) lines of the interlace signal.</p> |
