A melt spinning device capable of reducing the unevenness of size of filaments. A spinneret has delivery holes arranged in at least one annular array, and a cooling device is provided with a cylindrical filer serving as cooling air blow-off port surrounding filaments being spun from the spinneret. The diameter of the annular array of the delivery holes is set so that it is from 0.6 times the inner diameter of the cylindrical filter up to this inner diameter, and the distribution of the flow rate of the cooling air blown from the cylindrical filter and downstream of the spun filaments is such that the flow rate is the faster, the more downstream of the spun filaments.
