PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a DOHC V-type engine in the V-type arrangement direction of cylinders without changing port angle and valve angle, and to easily work a cylinder head. SOLUTION: In a four-cycle engine provided with valve driving cam shafts in an intake side and an exhaust side in each cylinder divided into the V-shape, an upper end surface of a cylinder head for supporting each cam shaft 3, 4 of the intake side and the exhaust side in each cylinder is formed into steps formed of each end surface 2b, 2c in parallel with a lower end surface 2a of the cylinder head and a stage difference 2d so that an intake side 2b close to a central part of the V-shape formed by each cylinder is formed into an upper step and an exhaust side 2c far from the central part is formed into a lower step.
