PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera shutter which is suitable for cost reduction, shutter miniaturization and the power saving by constituting the shutter so that photographing may be performed while securely holding a shutter blade in a prescribed aperture control position even in the case a power supply to a stator coil is interrupted. SOLUTION: A permanent magnet rotator 3 is rotated by a prescribed angle in accordance with the current direction of the stator coil 6 so as to actuate shutter blades 14 and 15 by a driving pin 3b. An iron pin 8 attached to the stator so as to face the circumferential surface of the rotator 3 is arranged on a line extending from the boundary between the magnetic poles of the rotator 3 when the rotator 3 lines in nearly the intermediate position between the full- open position as an initial position and the aperture control position. Thus, even in the case the power supply to the stator coil 6 is interrupted, the rotator 3 and the shutter blades 14 and 15 are held without failure in a stop position as for the full-open position, the aperture control position and the closing position.
