PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide partial catalytic combustion type combustion equipment which can prevent the overheating of a catalyst even when the air ratio of a fuel-mixed gas is not controlled in accordance with the temperature of the catalyst by detecting the temperature and can make compact combustion and a hot air heater using the equipment. SOLUTION: The partial catalytic combustion type combustion equipment is provided with a partial catalytic combustion type burner 1 having a room containing a combustion catalyst and another room containing no combustion catalyst both of which are formed in belt-like shapes having board widths, short lengths, and thicknesses thinner than the lengths and divided from each other along the longitudinal direction, and openings provided in the tops of the rooms; means 11 and 27 which supply the fuel-mixed gas to the rooms from the downside to the upside in the longitudinal direction; and means 3, 4, 12, and 25 which make air to flow from the downside to the upside in the longitudinal direction along the external surfaces of both side walls of the burner 1 in the lateral direction. The hot air heater is constituted to blow out combustion gas from a combustion space through a hot air blowing-out port by using the combustion equipment.
