PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool holder that can accurately achieve centering shafts, has a high strength against a laterally applied force, and can stably keep the centered state of the shafts when performing machining work with the tool holder mounted on a spindle of a machine tool. SOLUTION: One end of a body having the tool holder at the other end is provided with a corresponding tapered shank part to be engaged with a tapered hole in the spindle of the machine tool. The shank part is formed hollowly, and the inside of a collar part is formed in a hollow shape having the inner peripheral surface continuing to the inner peripheral surface of the shank part. When the shank part is inserted into the tapered hole, it abuts on the inner peripheral surface. Then, when a force directing the deeper part is applied, it slightly moves in this direction, and collar-like abutting part on the outer periphery of the body abuts on the end surface of the edge of the tapered hole in the spindle.
