PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new 2-substituted p-aminophenol derivative and an agent for dying keratin fiber including the compounds. SOLUTION: This agent is an oxidation dye for hair comprises a p- aminophenol derivative expressed by general formula (I) or their physiologically mild water-soluble salts and a combination of a color developing material and a coupler material as main ingredients, and the dye includes at least one of the p-aminophenol derivatives of the formula (I).
