PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a hollow member which can also easily manufacture a final contour of the hollow member having a varying section. SOLUTION: This method of manufacturing the hollow member of a large volume by deforming a cold deformable metal at least locally in an isostatic manner in a cavity of a die with a small amount of material at a low cost and of high process safety comprises a step a. of cutting a thin plate, a step 6 of deforming the cut thin plates and welding butted surfaces facing each other so as to provide a densely pressed three-dimensional member having at least one opening, a step c. of expanding the member in the die in an isostatic manner, and a step d. of welding a closing piece. |
