PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymerization reactor for manufacturing polyvinyl chloride polymers, which adheres an extremely small amount of scale to the coating on the inner wall and provides less troubles attributed to the peeling-off the coating. SOLUTION: The inner wall of the polymerization reactor for manufacturing polyvinyl chloride based polymers is lined with a coating mainly comprising a condensate obtained by a condensation reaction participated in by hydroxyl group-containing aromatic compounds which are a bivalent phenol such as catechol and a trivalent phenol such as phyrogallol, a 1-naphthol, and an aldehyde.
