A cradle (10) for a mobile communication terminal (40) has functions such as a charging function including a mobile communication terminal battery charging circuit (25) and a charging connector (28) and functions such as a handset (11), a display (12), a keypad (13), a loudspeaker (14) for generating a ringing tone, a microphone (15) for handsfree operation, and a short-distance radio communication unit (22) for noncontact communication with the mobile communication terminal (40). While the mobile communication terminal (40) is placed on the cradle (10), or while the mobile communication terminal (40) is detected by the cradle (10), the cradle (10) acts for the user interface of a ringing tone generation function, an originating/terminating control function and a transmitting/receiving function of the mobile communication terminal (40). As a result, the operability of an intercommunicating system using a public-cum-private mobile communication terminal is improved. |
