PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aging method obtaining a plasma display panel capable of aging at low voltage and stably operating. SOLUTION: In the aging of the plasma display panel having a cathode 1 exposed to a discharge space; an anode 2; and a third electrode 3 connected to the cathode and insulated from the discharge space with insulating coating films 4, 5, aging of the cathode 1 is conducted by using a constant current pulse between the cathode 1 and the anode 2, and aging of the insulating coating films 4, 5 on the third electrode are conducted by using a positive voltage pulse alternately applying to the cathode and the anode, in which pulse voltage applied to the anode is lower than the minimum discharge-maintaining voltage of the cathode and the anode.
