METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CLEANING COOLING TOWER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce maintenance cost incident to contamination of the filler in a cooling tower and to recover initial state of heat exchanging efficiency. SOLUTION: In a cooling tower where heat is exchanged through contact of gas and liquid, a filer for increasing the gas liquid contact area by complicating the air or water channel to enhance heat exchanging efficiency is cleaned using a rotary nozzle reaching the inner space from the outer surface. The apparatus cleaning the cooling tower comprises a control section 18 for positioning the arm end by analyzing data received from means 16 for recognizing the arranging position of a nozzle and a water jet hole 6c is made at the forward end part of a nozzle at an arm end positioned by the control section 18. High pressure water is fed from the base section side and the filler 4 of the cooling tower is cleaned by rotating jet water.
