PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device with which density measurement is possible without upsizing the device. SOLUTION: The image forming device 10 is arranged with a densitometer 60 and a guide plate 62 for maintaining the specified distance of the densitometer 60 from image receiving paper 42 in a segment where the image receiving paper 42 is discharged to a receiving tray 58 in a transporting path for this paper. Accordingly, when a chart for measurement for density correction is formed on the image receiving paper 42 in the image forming device 10, the density is measured before the paper is discharged to the receiving tray 58. The density correction may be carried out in accordance with the result of the measurement. At this time, the densitometer 60 and the guide plate 62 are disposed in the transporting path of the image receiving paper 42 used for ordinary image formation and therefore the upsizing of the image forming device 10 may be suppressed.
