NEUTRON GENERATION FACILITY AND METHOD FOR INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a neutron generation facility facilitating inspection and maintenance and necessary replacement work, and a method for inspection and maintenance thereof. SOLUTION: The facility includes neutron generation means 9 and 11 for generating neutrons, a neutron moderating means 6 having an arrangement part for arranging the generating means 9 and 11 therein, a neutron reflector 7 having a recess for arranging the moderating means 6 therein and also having an inlet for introducing the generating means 9 and 11 into the arrangement part provided in the moderating means 6, and a storage tank 1 for storing the above means. The reflector 7 is housed in the storage tank 1 so that with the surface having a recess faces up and the moderating means 6 is placed in the recess, the generating means 9 and 11 are introduced through the inlet provided in the reflector 7 and are placed in the arrangement part provided in the moderating means 6.
