ROCK-BED STORAGE FACILITY AND METHOD FOR FUEL GAS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rock-bed storage facility and method for fuel gas allowing the safe storage of a large quantity of fuel gas of high pressure without increasing the plate thickness of a fuel tank. SOLUTION: This rock-bed storage facility for fuel gas is provided with a cavity 11 provided keeping airtightness in a rock-bed 1; a fuel tank 12 installed in the cavity with airtightness; air supply-exhaust equipment 14 for supplying and exhausting compressed air in and out of the cavity; gas supply- exhaust equipment 16 for supplying and exhausting fuel gas in and out of the fuel tank; and a pressure balancer 18 for feeding compressed air or the like into a clearance between the fuel tank and the rock-bed to balance cavity internal pressure and tank internal pressure.
