METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING MAGNETIC DISK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a magnetic disk having reduced minute foreign materials and minute projections on the surface and for obtaining excellent floating performance of a magnetic head and small errors in a high yield by using a glass substrate. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing the magnetic disk comprises a step for forming successively an underlaid layer, a magnetic layer and a protection layer on a disk-shaped glass substrate after the surface of the glass substrate is at least cleaned. The cleaning is conducted by showering a cleaning liquid consisting of pure water having >=0.1 ppm hydrogen concentration onto the surface of the glass substrate while rotating the glass substrate.
