The system comprises the amplifier (1) actuated by a piston rod (5) and having an electromagnetic coil (2), a pressure sensor (11) and armature (3), held in position by a compression spring (4). A pedal force sensor (10) and electronic control unit (18) provide analog energy to the coil. Application of brake pedal pressure is registered by the pressure sensors and the electronic control unit to energize the coil to move the armature a pre-determined amount to add to the hydraulic pressure from the brake cylinder (9).
